Asset Management is the second step in the Life Cycle Management concept.
Terminating a lease and selling the equipment while it still has value in other markets, and at a time where the customer no longer experiences the full business value of the item, will actually reduce the TCO of the customer’s original investment.
Technology Protection
In the light of the development rate and the rapid changes in price and performance of data equipment and programmes, all of which result in a relatively short life cycle for IT investments, Captive Finance can offer technology protection – a form of financing that provides the customers with the maximum level of flexibility in relation to IT equipment investments. Technology protection enables the customers to exchange and/or buy equipment during the lease period, i.e. total flexibility for exchanging items at the optimal moment in time.
It is possible to exchange a certain percentage in relation to the original size of the investment without any increase in the monthly lease amounts. In the event of such an exchange and/or purchase, the expiry date of the technology contract is extended so that it corresponds to that of the original contract.
The exchange percentages are calculated on the basis of the discounted amounts for each respective technology contract, and in relation to the included market value. In other words, there are no further fees or other forms of extra costs involved in utilizing technology protection.
Technology protection gives the customers the possibility of investing according to “needs” and not merely according to “budget”.
